  1. SPACE SWIMMERS 3 - A black ink and gray pencil drawing on an 11 x 14 size vellum paper. It appears in the paperback, "The Space Swimmers," by Gordon R. Dickson, Published by Ace, 1979

This picture represents a scene from the story, but my inspiration came from these words from the Bible:

"O Lord, how manifest are thy works!
In wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches.

So is this great and wide sea, wherein are things creeping innumerable, both small and great beasts.

Man goeth forth unto his work and to his labor. There go the ships.
And there is that great leviathan, whom thou hast made to play therein, in the deep darkness and in the shadow of death.

They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters."
